I’m very excited to share I moved into my condo last week and have barely made a dent into the unpacking, but am loving the new place. I am exhausted and dream of a day that involves nothing but sleeping, but that is not in my near future, so I just look around with a big grin on my face;D.
Happy Monday and have a fantastic week!
From Prussia With Love Release Day and Give-Away!
Woohoo! Today From Prussia With Love, book 1 in the Victoria’s Secret Agents series, release from Loose Id. A super-sexy steampunk novel with a touch of BDSM and loads of swashbuckling fun. It is set in the same world as Dirigibles Are Forever and Holly and Jack make an appearance.
Clara Redbeck has one goal: to prove to the sods at work—and to herself—that the best man for the job can be a woman. To do that, she must prevent a traitor from blowing London to bits. If only the dashing first mate of the dirigible she’d been tasked to plunder didn’t set her aflame.
Garrett Dewhurst has one goal: to execute the coup of a lifetime. His plans do not include a spanking dalliance with the most intriguing woman he has ever met.
With each encounter, the fire between them burns hotter and their need grows stronger. Finally, the cramped cabin aboard the Bismarck becomes their intimate playground, where Garrett introduces Clara to the pleasure of submission and they explore their passion in every way possible.
Clara and Garrett want a future together, but each holds a secret that if revealed could cost them everything. When danger closes in, they have to choose between protecting themselves or the whole of London.
To celebrate the release I’m giving away a steampunk necklace and a pair of earrings from Overman.
For a chance to win follow me on Twitter (@TinaChristopher) and tweet about the release and the contest using #FromPrussiaWithLove. Or comment on this post and tell me your favourite James Bond movie and why you love it. Each will give you one entry into the contest, which is open worldwide. The contest runs until 12pm EST Sunday August 30th, 2015.
I have to say my favourite is probably Goldeneye with Pierce Brosnan and Sean Bean. I love the action and the characters and it’s one of the few Bond movies where the plot holes are on the smaller side;). When I worked at Harrods in London I met Pierce Brosnan and he was just wonderful. A complete gentleman and very sweet when a little boy (probably around 6 years) asked him if he was James Bond.
Weekend Writing Warriors-Steampunk WIP Snippet 12
Welcome to the Weekend Writing Warriors, the perfect place to discover new authors and fall in love with their writing. Each Sunday we share 8 sentences from a current or finished manuscript. Click here for the rest of the amazing writers participating.
I’m continuing to share from my current work in progress FPWL. It’s a companion novel to Dirigibles Are Forever and the beginning of a trilogy. This snippet comes a little bit after the last one. Garrett and Clara are having a bit of a difference of opinion on how the tour of the dirigible should be conducted. After a few intense moments he is showing her around, but Clara is struggling with his method. We are in her point of view.
“On the outside he was the perfect gentleman, courteous, charming and thoroughly entertaining. And so very, very helpful. He did not miss any opportunity to assist with the stairs, a narrow walkway or an obstacle in her way. At the end of the hour and a half she wanted to scream with need. His touch drove her crazy.
She’d tried to give as good as she got, but struggled to see the same response in him that she experienced herself.
It disconcerted Clara how easily Dewhurst distracted her. She’d always taken pride in her focus, in her ambition to do the best she possibly could. She had to.”
What works, what doesn’t?
Today is an insane day for me, so it may be evening by the time I can make my rounds. I missed last week as I was at Romancing the Capital, the first Canadian Romance Writer and Reader conference in Ottawa. It was an absolute blast and so popular that the author slots for 2016 were gone within a few hours. I had been to a couple of the big conferences, but this was the first where everything was about the readers and it was wonderful. I had opportunity to wear my steampunk gear and introduce new readers to my mash-up of past and future;).
Have a wonderful Sunday and Happy Writing!
Victorian Valentine’s Day in Steampunk London
I love to write steampunk because it means I get to mix past, present and future together and make something new. “What If?” is one of my all time favourite questions;). How would a couple in my Victorian London celebrate Valentine’s Day?
- Today we’d exchange emails or text a partner, but in my Victorian London a couple in the beginning stages of courtship would send a flockwork message. A flockwork message is a mechanical bird that records the sender’s words and sings them at the recipient. It would be fun and flirty and something they can share.
- A romantic dinner is the usual fare for modern day couples, but in my London Afternoon Tea at Claridge’s would be the equivalent. Of course the tea will be served by sharply dressed automatons who can outstep any maître d’.
- If we want to do something special we’d visit the theatre and take in a show or catch a great movie at the cinema. My couples will head over to the Globe Theatre and watch Shakespeare’s “The Mechanic of Venice” or “A Midsummer Night’s Steam”.
- If you want to be a little bit naughty your text or email could include a picture or two. In my London a couple would send an image (or two) through the Aether. Throughout the day the Aether terminal will ping when yet another delicious picture arrives. Hopefully the evening will be spent together admiring the real version;).
- A weekend away is definitely a favourite to celebrate Valentine’s Day. My couples will jump on their dirigible and take a leisurely trip across the channel and end up in Paris to admire the city and savour its delicious treats.
What is your favourite way to celebrate Valentine’s Day?
Too Cute!
I don’t drink beer, but I love the Budweiser beer commercials. They are just too cute:).

I am very excited to introduce you to Jack Smith, hero of Dirigibles Are Forever.
Jack is an agent for Special Branch in 1890s London. He has been living in a world of secrets and lies for a long time. Holidays are not really on his Long Range Visualization Terminal, especially if he is undercover on a mission. His cover is that of an Aether Traffic Controller at the London Royal Port Authority. No problem. He’s a chameleon and able to adapt to every scenario. Except this time he has a supervisor who dominates his thoughts and fantasies.
Holly is just gorgeous and he wants nothing more than to take the next step, but she is the right woman at the worst possible time. He’s working on Christmas Eve because this is the one night when he can fulfill his mission. Of course best laid plans always explode to cinders. London is experiencing an unexpectedly white Christmas, meaning Holly and he are snowed in and “trapped” at the dirigible station. Then Holly asks him for one night, no rules, no boundaries, only what they can do for each other.
Jack’s now has to choose between his duty and what he’s been dreaming about for months. Guess what he decides to do?
The idea of this blog hop is to share with you what our heroes get up to over the holidays. Let me give you a snippet…
“Before she could worry over Jack and his similarities and dissimilarities to her dead husband, the subject of her obsession returned. Jack carried her Dewar flask and a mug in one hand and a wet cloth in the other. She raised her brows at him, but he only smiled.
Holly couldn’t ask about it as the second vessel had reached transfer distance. “There it is again.” The same inconsistent blip appeared on the LRVT, but this time much farther west than the previous time. And once again it was just that one flash and nothing more.
Jack poured her a cup of tea. “I added the milk downstairs.”
“Thank you.” She had a sip. “Perfect.” She returned to the LRVT and engaged with the navigator of the Nimrod. Or at least she tried, as that was when Jack sank to his knees beside her and pushed the blanket up so her lower legs were uncovered. She covered the speaking tube. “What are you doing?”
He didn’t say anything, only shot her a look that had her nipples tightening and her pussy moistening. Once again, fire burned in his amazing eyes.
He twisted her chair so she was slightly tilted away from her LRVT. He moved between her legs and forced her to open them. The blanket slipped to the floor, forgotten.
Jack pushed up the shirt she’d purloined from him until her thighs were completely uncovered.
Holly pressed the speaking tube against her chest as he used the hot moist washcloth to clean away the marks of their lovemaking. She wanted to moan when he rubbed the rough cloth across her sensitive inner thighs. He pulled a second towel out of his back pocket and stroked the dry fabric in the wake of the wet.
Then he leaned forward and kissed the skin he’d just cleaned.
Her head fell back and the speaking tube dropped out of her hand. He retrieved the tube and passed it to her. His complete silence and knowing smile elevated the tension.
She had no idea what he planned.
And it excited her beyond belief.
Jack gently pushed her legs wider and kissed his way from her knee to the curve where hip and thigh met. He licked the crease where her leg ended and her pelvis began. She’d never known how sensitive that stretch of skin was.
When he pressed the moist towel directly onto her pussy, she jerked and whimpered. Her hand clenched around the speaking tube. The wet heat after the cool room air was a shock, but an exciting one.
Jack slowly pushed one finger covered in the cloth inside her, cleaning her thoroughly. The slightly rough material scraped along her inside walls, raising the sensitivity level higher and higher.
He moved his finger back and forth and her arousal skyrocketed. He pulled his cloth-covered finger out and dropped the towel. Then he leaned forward and blew on her.
Her hips jolted and she screamed.
Jack held her hips down and licked her pussy from one end to the other.
Noise echoed in Holly’s ears, but she couldn’t place it until he lifted her hand still holding the speaking tube.
Holly froze. Heat filled her cheeks. It was the navigator of the Nimrod shouting in her ear. She thrust a hand into Jack’s hair, trying to make him stop, but he only disentangled her hand and held it to the side. “Jack.” She gestured with the speaking tube, reminding him they weren’t completely private.
But he continued to lick her opening, making her wetter and wetter. Holly wanted nothing more than to turn off the LRVT, but she couldn’t in good conscience do that. And with the speaking tube in her other hand, she had no way to make him stop.
Jack licked across her clit, freeing it from the protective skin cover.
She pushed her hips into his face and panted, desperately trying to even out her breathing so the Nimrod wouldn’t notice anything. She swallowed and lifted the tube. “Nimrod, this…this is…is Tower One—Oh Lord! “
Jack tapped her bundle of sensitive nerves with his tongue and she lost all concentration. He pulled back the tiniest bit and looked up from between her splayed thighs. “I believe they require coordinates.”
She clenched the speaking tube against her chest again. “Stop while I talk to them. I can’t focus while you do this.”
One brow rose, and his smile turned dark. “No,” he said and went back to licking her.”
Well, I’m sure you can imagine what happens next;). Dirigibles Are Forever is available at all ebook retailers.
What would you do with your hunk at Christmas?
Now, this is a Hunky Holiday Blog Hop and that means I need to add some pictures.
Happy Holidays and a wonderful start to the New Year!
Dirigibles Are Forever Release Day and Contest!
Today is the day! I am so very, very excited to celebrate the release of Dirigibles Are Forever, my super-sexy Christmas novella set in an alternative Victorian London, filled with adventure, secrets and fun, and a dash of James Bond.
I love this story! It was a blast to write it and Holly and Jack have a special place in my heart. Both of them face difficult decisions and Holly is working hard to find her place in the world. It is not the Victorian London you are used to, but a London where Her Majesty Queen Victoria passed the Equal Rights Act and women can do whatever they want…including being Aether Traffic Controllers;). But Holly no longer believes it is enough. She wants more, but has not yet found what this more is.
Working as an Aether Traffic Controller saved Holly Acklin after the death of her husband, but now she wants more—including a night of uninhibited passion with Jack Smith, whose very presence has kept her body tingling for months.
Special Agent Jack Smith kept his identity a secret when he came to the London Royal Port Authority with one assignment, one he cannot fail. It holds him back from following his attraction to Holly. But on the eve he must complete the mission, Holly asks for one night with no rules or boundaries, and his control snaps.
When London experiences an unexpectedly white Christmas, all dirigible traffic is grounded, leaving Holly and Jack free to act upon their stormy passions. Holly finds her determination to stay emotion-free crumbling unaware Jack is experiencing the same need. Each lover wishes for more, but fears it can’t be. Instead they focus their desires in mind-blowing passion.
But when Holly discovers that Jack isn’t who he claimed to be, everything is thrown into turmoil. Can she trust the man she thought she knew?
