#Top10Tuesday – Books That Blew Me Away!

Happy Tuesday, Book Lovers!

Today I am sharing a list of books and book series that recently BLEW ME AWAY!

  1. The Others by Anne Bishop

Holy moly! This series is INCREDIBLE! I basically read it in a week and fell completely in love with the world and the characters. I have never read anything like it!

2. Shadow Rider and Shadow Reaper by Christine Feehan

I NEED book #3! I am more than a little desperate for it. I adore this family and their unique gift. Sexy and dark men and the mysterious and strong women who love them. It’s just fabulous!

3. Silver Silence by Nalini Singh

No news here! I have made no secret of my love for Nalini Singh and I adore this new arch in her Psy/Changeling series. The bears are a lot of fun. I miss the edge the wolves and leopards have just a little bit, but I’ve already read this twice and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

4. Run to Ground by Katie Ruggle

Sexy man who’s also a cop? Sign me up! Sexy man with a cute dog? Sign me up twice! Sexy man, cute dog, and a fabulous woman in a unique situation? Oh yes, I’m in:).

5. White Hot by Ilona Andrews

It has been a few years since Burn for Me, but White Hot was just as good! Great urban fantasy with a very sexy vibe. Luckily #3 is only a few weeks away!

6. Worth the Wait by Lori Foster

Lori Foster is a genius! I have yet to find a book by her that I don’t like:D.

7. Until It Fades by K.A. Tucker

This was my first but definitely won’t be my last K.A. Tucker. Until It Fades is a beautifully written romance with the perfect slow burn.

8. Accidentally On Purpose by Jill Shalvis

I love the Heartbreaker Bay series and finally getting to Elle and Archer’s story was just so much fun!

9. After the Dark by Cynthia Eden

Neat premise to have a profiler who has personal connection to a serial killer. The story was super twisty and unexpected and I really enjoyed the psychology added in between. Strong characters and a great start to the series, which had me reading until 2am.

10. The Billionaires by Calista Fox

I love a great menage and Billionaire’s had me from page one. I’m not usually a fan of second chance romance, but this one had just the right balance of hot and emotional!

I’m continuing to share from my latest Shadow Codex. Last time we discovered Caleigh was just a little bit gummed by the fact that saving the world meant she missed her book club and thereby one of the few opportunities to spend time with sexy Sawyer. But maybe he is much closer than she thinks…

Steps sounded behind her. She turned around with a smile that died away rather quickly. Kind of hard to smile when your jaw was busy touching the floor. “Sawyer? What are you doing here?”

His eyes widened for a second, but he was much better at catching himself. “Caleigh, what a delight. To answer your question, I am here to see a man about a book.”

She pressed her lips together, struggling to find her brain—why did he have to look so sexy in one of his great suits? He could give Daniel Craig a run for his money.

One witch. One shifter. One angry god hell-bent on the destruction of the world.

Witch Caleigh hunts for the Shadow Codex. She has seven days to unearth it and learn the spell to banish a god before he can do the wipe out the world thing. She didn’t anticipate being joined by sexy Sawyer, the man she’s had a crush on for months. After having suffered devastating loss she’s no longer willing to risk her heart, so a crush is all it can be.

Sawyer has one goal: fulfil his duty as alpha and protect his pack at all cost. Being sidetracked by luscious Caleigh wasn’t part of the plan. When he discovers they are after the same book he’s happy to savor every moment with her. That is all he can do. Because bringing a human into a world where physical prowess is everything would kill her.

The chemistry between them grows explosive until danger catapults them over the edge. Caleigh has to decide how much she’s willing to risk. Sawyer needs to determine if his pack is all that matters. When danger closes in it may be easier to banish a god than to face their inner demons.

Things have been a bit crazy for me. A couple of weeks ago I was at the Romantic Times Convention in Las Vegas. It was absolutely amazing. Coming back I had quite a bit of catching up to do at work. And next week I’m going to be in Ottawa at Romancing the Capital. I’m incredibly excited about going as it’s one of the funnest and best conferences I’ve ever been to. If you’re in the are you should definitely come by for the Saturday Signing. It’s open to the public;).

Happy Sunday and have a fabulous and productive week!

And here are a couple of images of Sawyer’s other half:

Romantic Times Convention 2016

I’m having a blast at the Romantic Times Convention in Las Vegas. Having never been to Vegas before it took me a day or three to get used to it;).

The first thing I did after getting here was fulfill my dream of standing where the gang from Ocean’s 11 stood at the end of the movie-the fountain at the Bellagio.

Monday and Tuesday I spent with Cherry Adair, learning how to plot with beautifully coloured post-it notes. It’s an intriguing system and I will definitely try it.

I’ve had a chance to catch up with friends I only see at conferences and make new friends.

On Wednesday the Nice Girls Writing Naughty had our Very Merry Un-Party, which had me doing Hangman with a Naughty Twist. I had a blast and I hope the readers who stopped by did as well. I didn’t get a chance to take pictures during the event, so here is my table before and after;).

I’m continuing to share from my upcoming release Shadow Codex, which releases next Tuesday, April 5th. Last week witch Caleigh contemplated the fact that she was on a quest to banish an angry god hell-bent on the destruction of the world and had only a measly seven days to do it. This snippet is a few paragraphs on and has just a touch of creative punctuation.

Did it make her the worst person in the world that she wasn’t that excited about this quest because it meant missing her monthly book club? She loved books and the great discussions her little group usually had, but the main reason she was bummed was that she wouldn’t sit beside yummy and delicious Sawyer for two-plus hours.

That and having him drop by the store were the highlights of her month.

Sawyer Hudson. She sighed; one of the sexiest men alive. No, halt that thought-the sexiest man alive; at least for her.

And so far out of her league he was in a different universe. But those moments when they talked books—usually disagreeing as much as possible because that was the most fun—she was in seventh heaven.

Well, not this month and if she didn’t get her act together, maybe never again.

Talk about motivation.

Here is the preliminary blurb:

I am super excited about the release next week. I’ve seen a draft version of the cover and can’t wait to share it with you and the rest of the world. I’m neck deep in preparation for RT the week after next. I always think I know what I’m doing until I get to this point and then freak out with all the things I hadn’t thought of yet. Fingers crossed I’ll manage to tick some things off my list before I get on the plane;).

Happy Sunday and have a fabulous and productive week!

And of course I can’t leave you without a sexy shifter;).

I’m continuing to share from my upcoming release Shadow Codex. Last week we met Caleigh, a witch on a quest for an ancient codex that is supposed to help her banish an angry god. The final line last week was about Cernnunos, the afore mentioned angry god intent on destroying the planet. “He wasn’t wrong, they had made a complete mess of the world, but sending a plague that killed its victims slowly and with torturous pain wasn’t exactly the best solution.”

Caleigh rubbed her brow. The illness stumped doctors. Panic had begun to creep into the population. Her neighbors and friends were stocking up on supplies. Online articles mentioned gun sales had doubled in the Bay Area in the last five days. And at her store customers had been buying up homesteading and survival books.

So far the outbreaks were contained in four or five major cities across most of the larger countries, but doomsday lovers were quick to point out that if no countermeasures were found, the plague would continue to spread unstoppably. Once the victims had reached a certain number, the balance would tip and humanity would die.

For once those doomsday lovers knew what they were talking about, which was why Mai, Zoe, and Caleigh had been sent on individual quests to find ways to take out the god. It was Caleigh’s job to find this codex, and she had a measly seven days.

Here is the preliminary blurb:

One witch. One shifter. One angry god hell-bent on the destruction of the world.

Witch Caleigh hunts for the Shadow Codex. She has seven days to unearth it and learn the spell to banish a god before he can do the wipe out the world thing. I’m currently working on the next book in the series and struggled with the opening. Luckily I had dinner with two friends last night and we came up with a much better solution. Now I just need to watch some classic Hepburn/Tracy movies. Such a chore…;)

And of course I can’t leave you without a sexy shifter;).

I’m back! And I’m about to share the opening ten lines from my upcoming release Shadow Codex. It’s a paranormal erotic romance and a complete departure from my previous Sci-Fi and Steampunk books. It will release the beginning of April from Loose Id and I’m very excited.

Caleigh O’Bryant loved being a witch. It suited her just fine, and heck, having magic course through your body at the height of a spell was a pretty awesome feeling.

Unfortunately the whole being-a-witch thing meant the Tri-Goddess, or rather her representatives, led the coven. And wasn’t it just lovely that the San Francisco coven was big enough to warrant all three representatives: the maid, the mother, and the crone? They were just so lucky.

Not.

Especially when all three of them called you into their office—she still found it weird to put the words goddess and office into one sentence—and told you to find an ancient codex because it included an incantation that would send a newly awakened god back to his dimension. Turned out when Cernnunos, a version of the Green Man and the protector of everything green and alive, awoke, he hadn’t been too happy with the state of the planet. He’d decided that humanity was at fault and needed to be removed.

He wasn’t wrong, they had made a complete mess of the world, but sending a plague that killed its victims slowly and with torturous pain wasn’t exactly the best solution.

Edit: I just realized I never added a blurb, so here is a preliminary version:

The last few months have been a bit of a whirlwind. Last September I bought my first home, a condo, and with a closing of two weeks had a few things I needed to get sorted;). I’ve moved in, and Emma and I have even gotten mostly used to being in the new space. Then a few things at the EDJ changed (aka blew up), meaning I suddenly had a new boss, a new team and basically a new job. I love it and am incredibly grateful I still have a job, but it’s still a bit of a roller coaster (and long hours).

I look forward to catching up on everyone’s stories and of course I can’t leave you without a sexy shifter;).
