Weekend Writing Warriors-Tangled Shadows Snippet 7

Welcome to the Weekend Writing Warriors. Each Sunday we share 8 sentences from a current or finished manuscript. Click here for the rest of the amazing writers participating. better-wewriwa

Today’s snippet is the last from Tangled Shadows, book 1 in the Celestial Surrender series. Nikolai and Galen came looking for Brooke because they believe she has information that will save the galaxy. When they couldn’t read her mind as expected they set scruples aside and followed their intense attraction. After a night of unimaginable pleasure they leave the planet while she’s asleep, basically kidnapping her. Now they have to face the music. Brooke is the first one speaking. If you’d like to read more about what happens in the bar read the excerpt here. Inventive punctuation;).

“Why the Jade are we in hyperspace?”

Nikolai saw the storm brewing behind her eyes; she was not a happy Space Cadet; he stroked his hand down Galen’s shoulder and took a step toward the woman who had hit both of them in the heart, “Milaya, sit down and let us explain.”

“I don’t want to sit, I want you to turn this rust bucket around and take me back to Teren.”

“Easy, no maligning the Mercy,” Nikolai wanted to bite his tongue; his instinctive response to calling his beloved ship a rust bucket was not the best way to deal with her justifiable anger.

“I’m more than happy to leave your stupid boat alone, as soon as you take me back,” she clenched her fists, her body stiff.

“We can’t,” Galen’s words stopped her in her tracks.

Brooke studied them with a narrowed gaze, their seriousness sunk in and some of her belligerence drained away, “Where are you taking me?”

“The Hamil Quadrant,” Galen replied.”

Next week I can start sharing snippets from my new release Danger by Dalliance. *Squee! Jumps! Claps!*

Real Life is still a walk on a tightrope. Fingers crossed I can keep my balance. I am giving away a Deco Steampunk Necklace here to celebrate the upcoming release of Danger by Dalliance. Chances are very, very good at the moment;).

Have a wonderful Sunday and a fabulous week. Let’s hope for sunshine and spring;). As always, Happy Writing!

tangledshadows_msr.jpgAfter losing not only her ship but also three days of her memory in a freak explosion, Space Captain Brooke Deverell wants only to forget her troubles for one amazing night and fulfill her wildest fantasy.

She gets that and more from Vampire Nikolai and ArchNaema Galen. The men have long been lovers and welcome her into their world of extraordinary sensuality. For one blissful night, Brooke believes she’s found her soul mates—but her happiness is short lived when she realizes she’s actually been kidnapped. After realizing her amnesia is real and of a paranormal nature, they find themselves at an impasse. To prevent a galaxy-wide war they must work together. The three discover their sensual partnership can heal her mind. But for a complete and successful union, Brooke has to decide if she can forgive the initial deception and open her heart to the two men who stir her blood.

  1. “…she was not a happy Space Cadet” lolol They are in SO much trouble.

  2. This Hamil Quadrant doesn’t sound nice. That’s a troublesome situation for Brooke and I hope she’ll be alright. Great snippet!

  3. I’m reading this book now, really enjoying it. Loved the dialog in this scene – excellent excerpt from this hot and sexy SF adventure.

  4. Great dialogue, and subtly sexy too. Very nice!

  5. I’m dying! Going to buy this book right now. Why can’t they take her back? I want mooooorrrreeee!

  6. Oh, she’s not going to like this at all. Nice excerpt.

  7. It may be two against one, but I think she’s more than a match for them. This sounds like a fast-paced and sexy story.

  8. I agree with everyone else—kidnapping her was NOT the easy way to go. She’ll make sure of that! 🙂

(The Hamil Quadrant . . . wouldn’t be named after Mark, would it?)
