Weekend Writing Warriors Snippet

The Weekend Writing Warriors are at it again! Click the link to see the rest of the brigade;).

The eight sentences are from the sequel to Rescue by Ruin again. To save herself and her father Susan has agreed to pose for Warren, no idea if he can even paint. She got a little bit more than she bargained for;).

“He saw everything.

Nothing escaped his eyes. With just a few lines in charcoal he captured the essence of his subjects.

He hid none of it.

The good, the bad and the ugly. He brought everything out on paper.

And now he was about to use her as his subject.

Susan wasn’t sure if she could stand what his image would show of her.”

Thank you for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend.

  1. Wonderful Snippet! I know I have this in my Nook waiting for me to have time to read. I will. I promise. Actually, I can’t wait.

  2. Oh wow…I’d be frightened too. Still, I’m so deeply intrigued by this, and just by the cover of Rescue by Ruin. Want more!

  3. Will be fascinating to see what his image does reveal. Very intriguing, can’t wait for more. Terrific snippet!

  4. Seems very interesting but wish you had a blurb or explanation. For someone coming in at the middle, it is out of context

    • Thank you, Sue. I will try to give more context next time. The book is still being written, so I don’t have a blurb yet. Susan is a young woman in Victorian London who has agreed to pose for Warren in order to save herself and her father. Warren and Archer live together as “friends” and are looking for a third. They believe Susan may be it.
      Thanks for stopping by.

  5. Yes, what will his portrayal of her show? Looking forward to future snippets to see : )

  6. Great snippet. 🙂

  7. Brave gal posing for a hot guy! Thanks for the preview:)

  8. Really nice building of her tension through his ability.
