Weekend Writing Warriors-Tangled Shadows Snippet 2

Today’s snippet immediately follows last week’s from the opening of Tangled Shadows, book 1 in the Celestial Surrender series. Brooke is following the progress of two very attractive men across the bar…

“The taller of the man candy raised his hand in a wave. He leaned back, gently kissed his partner on the lips and said, “Give me a minute, Nikolai,” before striding over to the other pilot. His smooth voice carried easily above the low hum of talk. He navigated the uneven splintered floors with a sleek grace that made Brooke drool just the tiniest bit.

Their kiss caused her to sigh with disappointment, but she could still appreciate.

She studied him from under her lashes, while pulling her comp off the heavy belt that separated the tight synth-shirt and pants to check her messages. She needed a job. If her M-box stayed empty, she’d be in trouble soon. Word of The Debacle during her last job had travelled.”

I have received my edits for Sexy Steampunk 2, so I am hoping to share it with you soon.

Have a wonderful Sunday and a fabulous week. As always, Happy Writing!

After losing not only her ship but also three days of her memory in a freak explosion, Space Captain Brooke Deverell wants only to forget her troubles for one amazing night and fulfill her wildest fantasy.

She gets that and more from Vampire Nikolai and ArchNaema Galen. The men have long been lovers and welcome her into their world of extraordinary sensuality. For one blissful night, Brooke believes she’s found her soul mates—but her happiness is short lived when she realizes she’s actually been kidnapped. The men hunted her down under the assumption she sold her crew and human cargo to Feral Vampires as blood slaves.

After realizing her amnesia is real and of a paranormal nature, they find themselves at an impasse. To prevent a galaxy-wide war they must work together. The three discover their sensual partnership can heal her mind. But for a complete and successful union, Brooke has to decide if she can forgive the initial deception and open her heart to the two men who stir her blood.

You can buy Tangled Shadows from amazon, Ellora’s Cave or Kobo.

  1. I like the way you move your characters through the setting, revealing it in a natural way. (“His smooth voice carried easily over the low hum of talk” instead of “A low hum of talk filled the room” and his walk across the uneven splintered floor.) I’m curious about The Debacle and would read more to find out what had happened.

  2. Really like how smoothly you integrated that bit of worldbuilding into the scene. Seamless!

  3. Interesting premise and I definitely want to read more after the snippet today!
